OpenAI: ChatGPT service hit by a global outage
OpenAI’s ChatGPT service has been experiencing a global outage since the morning of Tuesday, June 10, 2025. Some users are facing slow response times, while others are experiencing complete interruptions.

Is ChatGPT working normally for you? The global outage alert was raised by users on the social networks X, formerly Twitter, and Reddit. They reported service interruptions. According to Downdetector, the issues began around 9 AM in France.
In response to the alert, OpenAI’s status page indicated that some users have started experiencing “high error rates and latency.” This malfunction has significantly affected ChatGPT, the Sora text-to-video conversion tool, and OpenAI’s APIs.
OpenAI’s reaction was swift. “We have identified the root cause of the issue causing high errors and latency on the listed services. We are working on implementing a solution,” explained OpenAI.
Meanwhile, the search engine using some of OpenAI’s models, Perplexity, is also experiencing interruptions. Like ChatGPT, Perplexity is also reporting “slowdowns and high error rates” on its status page. According to Downdetector, Perplexity’s issues began around 7 AM and could be related to OpenAI’s interruptions.
