Beninese football is opening a new chapter in its history. Marcellin Bocovè was elected on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, as president of the Beninese Football Federation (FBF) at the end of the elective general assembly held at the Akpro-Missérété Excellence Centre. The sole candidate, head of the “Ensemble, visons plus haut” list, won by a very wide margin. Out of the 79 delegates who took part in the vote, 76 gave him their support, more than 96 percent of the votes cast. One vote was cast against his candidacy, while two abstentions were recorded.

This election, with little suspense, came after the electoral commission validated the only list led by Bocovè. The new leader now has a mandate running until 2030 to lead Beninese football. To carry out his project, Marcellin Bocovè will be able to rely on a team made up of eight vice-presidents and 12 other members of the executive committee. The new federation leadership will notably be responsible for continuing the development of Beninese football, improving competition organisation and supporting the progress of the national teams.
