Official: Olivier Verdon bounces back in Israel with Maccabi Netanya

Olivier Verdon did not wait long to relaunch his career. Free since the end of his adventure with Ludogorets, the Beninese international defender has officially joined Maccabi Netanya, a team in the Israeli top division. The club announced on Monday, September 14, the arrival of the Cheetah, who has signed until 2028, with an option to extend his contract for one more season. At 30 years old, Verdon is taking on a new challenge after six seasons spent in Bulgaria.

Arriving at Ludogorets in 2020, the former Bordeaux player quickly established himself in the landscape of Bulgarian football. Over the years, he has contributed to the club’s numerous successes and has built an impressive trophy cabinet. His time with the Green and Black allowed him to secure no fewer than twelve trophies. A European experience and a background at the highest level that should serve as valuable assets for Maccabi Netanya.
