Nigeria: Ned Nwoko denies marrying Regina Daniels at 17 and reveals his wife’s real age
Nigerian senator Prince Ned Nwoko responded on Thursday, November 13, 2025, to rumors that he had married actress Regina Daniels when she was only 17. In a statement published on his official Facebook page, the politician says these allegations are “completely false and misleading,” citing documented evidence of his wife’s actual age.

Senator Prince Ned Nwoko sought to put an end to the controversy over Regina Daniels’ age at the time of their marriage. In a post shared this Thursday on his verified Facebook page, he denounces “false information” he says was spread by the actress herself.
“It has come to my attention that false claims are circulating, suggesting that I married Regina when she was 17. These claims are entirely false and misleading,” the senator wrote.
“Regina was 21 when I met her”
According to Ned Nwoko, at their first meeting he made a point of asking Regina her age. She reportedly told him she was 21 and presented a document to prove it: her voter ID issued by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of Nigeria.
“She presented her INEC voter card to me, which clearly shows she was born on October 10, 1998. I told her I would keep this document, and I have kept it since that day,” the senator specified. The photo of the document attached to his post indeed shows a card in the name of Regina Nneamaka Daniels, born October 10, 1998, in the town of Ogwashi-Uku, Delta State.
“Our marriage took place six years ago”
The senator went on to say that their union was celebrated six years ago, which, he claims, proves the actress is now 27. “According to all verifiable records, our marriage took place six years ago. Any suggestion that I married her at 17 is false and should not be accepted by the public,” he insisted.
The former lawmaker and businessman also referred to an interview with Regina Daniels’ mother given to the BBC after the marriage, which would confirm the same version of events.
