Nigeria: Carter Efe and Speed Darlington Set to Meet in the Ring on October 1st

The fight will pit content creator and streamer Carter Efe against rapper and social media personality Speed Darlington. The chosen date coincides with Nigeria’s Independence Day, and the event is set to be broadcast live on DAZN, according to Premium Times, which relays the official announcement from the promoter.

For Carter Efe, the fight comes a few months after his points victory over the singer Portable. Last May, the three judges awarded the bout to the content creator, who has since established himself as one of the most prominent figures in the celebrity boxing circuit in Nigeria.

Speed Darlington, for his part, will seek to bounce back. The rapper was defeated by Portable in a previous fight in 2025, after being unable to continue beyond the first round.

A rivalry already fueled on social media

The October 1st showdown does not come out of nowhere. After Carter Efe’s victory over Portable, Speed Darlington publicly challenged the streamer, asserting that he was a very different opponent. The challenge now has a date and a location.
