In front of the 'Jeunesse Wadagni' platform, Adrien Houngbédji reaffirmed his commitment to support candidate Romuald Wadagni in the 2026 presidential election.

He stressed the sincerity of his stance, specifying that his support is not opportunistic and that it “comes from the heart”.

The momentum is growing within the platform. As the installation of its vertical structures continues across the territory, president Laurent Zomaï and his team met with Adrien Houngbédji on Friday, November 21 at his home in Adjina, Porto-Novo. The aim of this visit was to gather the experience of a major figure in the Beninese political scene in order to strengthen mobilization around Romuald Wadagni’s candidacy.
The discussions were above all an opportunity for a frank clarification. According to Laurent Zomaï, Adrien Houngbédji confirmed a deep, personal support for Romuald Wadagni. He recalled that he has known the candidate since his childhood, through his school years and during his time at Deloitte.
A trajectory followed « de bout en bout » that today leads him to believe Romuald Wadagni has the qualities necessary to lead Benin.
The candidate’s conduct was also mentioned, the patriarch not failing to praise his seriousness and sense of duty.
The meeting also allowed discussion of voter turnout at the upcoming elections. Adrien Houngbédji assured the delegation of his support to encourage strong mobilization across the country. He reminded them that, beyond the legal validity of a candidacy, legitimacy depends on voter participation. The patriarch therefore intends to work toward strong mobilization of Beninese voters for the 2026 presidential election.
