As they disembarked from Air Force One at Stansted Airport in Essex, Donald and Melania Trump walked the tarmac under the honors of a Royal Air Force welcome guard. Escorted to the helicopter Marine One, the two displayed an unusual closeness, contrasting with the First Lady’s usually distant demeanor.
A detail that did not escape internet users, some convinced it couldn’t be the real Melania. “She’s smiling AND holding his hand. That’s not Melania,” mocks a comment shared thousands of times.
Others interpreted the scene as an awkward attempt to hide the president’s fragile health. A bruise noticed on Donald Trump’s hand fueled suspicions. This is not the first time such marks have sparked rumors, despite repeated explanations from his close aides.
“The president has bruises because he works tirelessly and shakes hands all day,” defended Karoline Leavitt, White House spokeswoman, backed by Trump’s physician who mentioned a preventive aspirin treatment.
A visit marked by high diplomatic tension
While this display of affection drew attention, it adds to a tense atmosphere surrounding the official visit. In London, Donald Trump is to attend a carriage procession alongside King Charles III, an air show and a royal dinner at Windsor Castle.
But British opponents have already disrupted the stay. A group projected giant photos of Trump with Jeffrey Epstein onto the castle walls, sparking immediate controversy.
