Manchester United has put an end to speculation about a possible arrival of Sergio Ramos during the winter transfer window. For several days, rumors had suggested the Red Devils intended to secure the services of the iconic Real Madrid defender, recently released from any contract after leaving Monterrey.
But according to ESPN, the Manchester club is not at all considering signing the 2010 World Cup winner. At 39, Ramos does not figure in the board’s plans, which rules out the idea of a last-minute reinforcement whose profile is as prestigious as it is symbolic.
Over the course of his career, the former captain of La Roja has built one of the most decorated careers in modern football: four Champions Leagues, five LaLiga titles, one World Cup and two European Championships. Manchester United should nevertheless be active this winter to provide new options for Ruben Amorim ahead of the second half of the season.
