Lori Loughlin files for divorce from Mossimo Giannulli after nearly 29 years of marriage
Lori Loughlin has officially filed for divorce from Mossimo Giannulli. The 62-year-old actress submitted her petition on Friday, September 4, before a Los Angeles court, setting in motion the end of a marriage that began in 1997.

According to court documents reviewed by several American media outlets, including People and USA Today, the star of Full House cites “irreconcilable differences.” The couple had already announced they were living separately in the fall of 2025, but no legal proceedings had been initiated at that time.
Lori Loughlin and fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli were married in November 1997. They have two adult daughters, Isabella Rose, 27, and Olivia Jade, 26. The divorce file also mentions a prenuptial agreement signed before their marriage, then modified in 2015.
The procedure thus opens a new chapter in the private life of the actress, who had recently begun to appear more frequently in public and on social media. She notably returned to Instagram at the end of August, after several years of absence.
A couple long exposed in the media
The couple’s name was widely publicized during the American college admissions scandal revealed in 2019. Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli were accused of paying $500,000 to have their daughters falsely presented as recruits for the University of Southern California rowing team.
They had subsequently pleaded guilty in 2020 in this case. Lori Loughlin served a two-month prison sentence, while Mossimo Giannulli was sentenced to five months. The episode had a lasting impact on their public image and led to the actress stepping back from the spotlight.
Since then, Lori Loughlin has gradually resumed her television career, with several appearances in series and TV movies. The divorce filing comes as she is also seeking to rebuild a more regular public presence.
The couple has not announced any public conflict regarding their two daughters, both of whom are adults. The financial terms of the divorce will now need to be examined as part of the proceedings, taking into account in particular the provisions set out in their prenuptial agreement. The issue of asset division is closely scrutinized in celebrity separations, as demonstrated by the divorce of Jessica Alba, concluded without a prenuptial agreement.
