People and Entertainment Weekly report that Lionel Richie was hospitalized this week for heart rhythm issues. His representative did not disclose the name of the facility or the expected duration of his recovery.

This latest health scare follows a hospitalization in St. Louis at the end of August. The singer had requested a chair to finish his concert on August 29 before being admitted to intensive care for cardiac examinations. He returned to Los Angeles on September 2.

In June, Lionel Richie had already interrupted a performance in St. Paul after experiencing dizziness and postponed two concerts. He resumed his tour on June 30.
