Real Madrid won the Clasico this Sunday at the Santiago Bernabéu, coming out on top 2-1 against FC Barcelone thanks to goals from Kylian Mbappé and Jude Bellingham. The victory allows Xabi Alonso’s men to open up a five-point gap over their Catalan rivals in the Liga standings.
Substituted in the 72nd minute for his compatriot Rodrygo, Vinicius Junior did not hide his frustration when leaving the pitch, before appearing calmer in the mixed zone. The Brazilian winger made a point of praising the support of the Madrid crowd, faithful as ever for this still-electric clash.
« That’s what a Clásico is: a lot happens on and off the pitch », the player said.
« We try to stay balanced, but it’s not always easy. We didn’t mean to offend anyone, not the youngsters nor the fans. When we step onto the pitch, we know we have to do our part. Hala Madrid ! »
This victory reinforces Real Madrid’s momentum, more than ever a solid leader of the Liga, while Barça sees its big rival pull away in the title race.
