In Guinea, €269.5 million for a hospital, a road, and electricity

The largest portion, €143.05 million, will fund the construction and paving of the Cissela-Banko-N’Dèma and Banko-Saraya routes over 84 kilometers. This project is expected to enhance connectivity and trade in Upper Guinea.

The health sector will receive €65.8 million for the construction of the regional hospital in Siguiri. The BIDC estimates that this facility will improve access to specialized care for over 1.7 million people.

The third loan, amounting to €60.6 million, is dedicated to the hydroelectric development of Tinkisso 2. According to the regional bank, the project aims to extend access to renewable electricity for more than 350,000 people.

The agreements were signed by George Agyekum Donkor, president of the BIDC, and Mariama Ciré Sylla, Guinea’s Minister of Economy, Finance, and Budget. The government links these investments to the Simandou 2040 program, which aims to strengthen infrastructure and essential services.
