In Cotonou, “Sing and Dance with the Amazon” concludes this Saturday

The initiative is organized by the Beninese government through the Ministry of Culture, Arts, and Heritage. The Arts and Culture Development Agency has announced a program dedicated to local artists, orchestras, and dance companies, with free access for the public.

For a weekend outing in Cotonou, the appeal also lies in the format. The performances take place outdoors, at the foot of the Amazon statue, with no entry fee. The venue welcomes both groups of friends and families looking to enjoy a musical evening in an open and friendly setting.

The ADAC presents this edition as an extension of the national holiday celebrations. The stated goal is to bring artistic works closer to the public, highlight Beninese creativity, and establish culture in a highly frequented public space in the economic capital.

The Ministry of Culture officially includes “Sing and Dance with the Amazon” in its agenda from August 8 to September 12, 2026, at the esplanade of the Amazon. Several Beninese media outlets have also confirmed the free access and the succession of artistic performances throughout the period.

The event platform WuloEvents specifies that the performances occur in the evening and that no reservation is necessary to attend the event.
