“Harry’s days are numbered”, Prince William ready to sacrifice the Sussexes on the altar of stability?
With Prince Andrew having just been officially sidelined, attention now turns to Prince Harry. According to British columnist Maureen Callahan, Prince William would be playing a key role in internal reforms of the monarchy and might soon set his sights on his younger brother.

“It’s now William’s monarchy,” Maureen Callahan declares in the pages of the Daily Mail. For the columnist, the heir to the throne is said to have thrown his full weight behind King Charles III’s decision to remove Prince Andrew. And that move would be only the first step in a series of reforms aimed at restoring the image of the British Crown. According to her, the Duke of Sussex would be the next target.
The British journalist goes even further. “The question is no longer if, but when”, she writes. The columnist is convinced that the downfall of Harry and Meghan is inevitable. Behind Buckingham’s official statements, Prince William would be the “driving force” behind a major clean-up, eager to refocus the monarchy on a hard core, rid of figures considered burdensome.
Harry, “next victim” of a monarchy under reconstruction
In her analysis, Maureen Callahan describes Prince Andrew as a “manipulated pawn” to prepare the ground for a more symbolic ousting: that of his nephew. “Harry’s days as a prince and Duke of Sussex are surely numbered”, she states bluntly. As for Meghan Markle, the columnist cruelly compares her to Sarah Ferguson, describing the prince’s wife as “a floating wreck in search of a shore.”
The Daily Mail expert also targets the Sussexes’ declining popularity. She recalls that they were recently booed at a baseball game, where Kate Middleton receives ovations at every public appearance. “How painful it must be for Meghan, all those enthusiastic applause that greet the Princess of Wales every year”, she quips, highlighting the growing contrast between the two royal couples.
The British monarchy, driven by Prince William, seems more determined than ever to turn the page on scandals and restore its image, even if that means sacrificing Harry and Meghan on the altar of stability.
