Galatasaray: updates on Victor Osimhen’s injury
Galatasaray gave an update on Victor Osimhen, who suffered a hamstring issue during the World Cup playoff against DR Congo. And the Turkish club revealed that the Nigerian striker is suffering from a moderate muscle strain.

Galatasaray, reigning Super Lig champion, issued a statement on Wednesday about Victor Osimhen’s condition, injured on Sunday during the 2026 World Cup playoff between Nigeria and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Having suffered a hamstring problem and replaced at half-time by Jerome Adams Akor, the 26-year-old striker underwent an MRI as soon as he returned to Turkey. Examinations carried out at the club’s partner hospital revealed “a moderate strain accompanied by bleeding in the left posterior muscle,” the Istanbul club’s statement specifies, adding that treatment was immediately started.
This injury is expected to rule Osimhen out of Galatasaray’s trip to Gençlerbirliği on Saturday, an important match in the fight for the top places in the league.
