Friendly: Benin avoids the Liberian trap, Togo and Guinea are neck-and-neck.
Benin beat Liberia 1-0 this Friday in Turkey, as part of the March 2026 FIFA window. At the Moulay Hassan Stadium in Morocco, Togo and Guinea finished with a 2-2 draw.

The March 2026 FIFA window continued this Friday with several matches around the world. In Turkey, Benin faced Liberia in Antalya. A first test for the Cheetahs since their AFCON 2025 campaign, eliminated in the Round of 16. And Gernot Rohr’s men answered the call, with a narrow victory against the Lone Stars. After being held at 0-0 at the break, the Benin side took the upper hand over their opponent in the 85th minute with a superb strike by Tosin Aiyegun. Off a through ball, Lorient’s striker resisted the defense, beat the Liberian goalkeeper, and his shot hit the left post before finding the back of the net. A fine victory for the Benin team that will face Guinea in its second outing of this international break.
Togo self-destructs against Guinea
Also part of this international break, Togo ran into Guinea (2-2) in Morocco. For Patrice Neveu’s first game in charge of the Togolese side, the Sparrowhawks had actually taken a real lead toward victory, proving effective against a Guinea side that dominated. But in the last 15 minutes, two defensive errors allowed the Syli to level. A frustrating scenario for Togo, offensively solid but still fragile at the back, letting slip a victory that was within reach.
