Matches will begin on Friday, February 6, with a highly anticipated fixture between Egypt and Benin. The following day, Saturday, February 7, looks set to be particularly busy with six fixtures on the schedule. Kenya will host Tanzania, while Uganda will clash with Zambia. Nigeria, the standard-bearer of African women’s football, will host Senegal, while Cameroon will face Botswana. Guinea-Bissau and Malawi will also battle for a place in the next round.
