Water and Forests: 135 positions at stake, candidates undergo physical tests

In Bohicon, 176 candidates were expected at CEG 1, including 21 women, according to Griiow. Fourteen absences were noted at the start of the tests. In Parakou, LibreInfo reported that 272 candidates from Borgou and Alibori participated in this sporting phase.

The physical selection consists of three tests: speed, endurance, and climbing. The revised schedule for the competition maintains this phase on September 19, following the reopening of applications from September 9 to 15, allowing candidates with incomplete files to complete their submissions.

The recruitment was authorized by the Council of Ministers on March 11, 2026. The official report indicates that the 135 new recruits are intended to strengthen the workforce of the General Directorate of Water, Forests, and Hunting, following recruitments conducted over the previous four years.

The process was subsequently initiated by the DGEFC at the end of July, after several adjustments to the schedule. The distribution of positions remains unchanged: 95 forest rangers, 25 inspectors, and 15 conservators.

The written tests are scheduled for September 26.

Only candidates who pass the physical tests will be allowed to continue in the competition. The written tests are set for Saturday, September 26, 2026, and will cover French composition and forestry.

Three centers are designated for this final phase: Lycée Mathieu Bouké in Parakou for the northern region, CEG 1 in Dassa-Zoumè for the central region, and the Sino-Beninese Friendship Technical High School in Akassato for the southern region.
