Drug use and illicit substances: Regina Daniels finally undergoes a drug test

Amid a heated controversy surrounding drug-use allegations and a highly publicized breakup with Senator Ned Nwoko, Nigerian actress Regina Daniels announced she had gone to the hospital to undergo a drug test.

The Nigerian actress Regina Daniels has finally agreed to submit to a drug screening test, amid the media controversy surrounding her private life. On her Instagram account, the actress posted a video showing her in a hospital facility, announcing that she would undergo medical examinations. “Hi guys, I’m at the hospital to take a drug screening test“, she said on camera.

This move comes nearly three months after serious accusations made by her ex-husband, the senator and politician Ned Nwoko, who had publicly suspected her of illicit substance use. In fall 2025, Regina Daniels, for her part, had denounced her former husband for alleged acts of violence and domestic abuse, allegations firmly rejected by him.

In an already tense climate, Ned Nwoko had claimed to possess medical evidence attesting to the actress’s supposed drug use. His co-wife, Laila Charani, also weighed in on the controversy by claiming that Regina Daniels introduced her to drugs.

The situation worsened again with the online release of an alleged medical report mentioning the presence of several substances, including marijuana, cocaine, and opioids. Serenity Royale Hospital, named in this document, has, however, formally denied any leak and urged the public to ignore these claims, which it regards as unfounded.
