DR Congo: Gaz Mawete Headlines Congo Mboka Vibe in Kinshasa
Gaz Mawete was one of the main attractions at the inaugural Congo Mboka Vibe festival, held on Sunday, 6 September 2026 at the Kinshasa Academy of Fine Arts. The Congolese singer took the stage around 22 40 in an evening dedicated to the urban culture of the capital.

The audience sang along to several songs during the performance by the artist nicknamed “Boïka Machine.” The Congolese media outlet Ouragan described the set as lively, marked by applause and the crowd joining in on the songs.
Before Gaz Mawete, several artists from the Kinshasa scene had already performed. Wilili and then Talywan notably preceded the headliner, while the festival’s overall lineup also featured C2B, Flacko, Bantu B, G-Love l’Opposant, Zepekenio, and Keekee OG.
Congo Mboka Vibe took place on 5 and 6 September at the Academy of Fine Arts. The event combined music, DJ sets, dance, urban performances, fashion, and lifestyle. The platform MokiliEvent, which listed the event, now shows the tickets as sold out.
For this first edition, the organizers designed a format bringing together artists, creators, and young audiences around Kinshasa’s urban expressions, with Gaz Mawete as the main musical headliner.
The performance comes as the singer is already preparing for a bigger milestone: a solo concert at Kinshasa’s Stade des Martyrs scheduled for 31 July 2027.
