In a long Instagram post, Ayo Labinjoh refuted Davido’s statements, questioned the reliability of the DNA tests mentioned by the singer, and called for an independent examination to establish the truth.

Ayo Labinjoh, the mother of Aanu Adeleke, the teenager at the heart of the controversy surrounding a paternity test request targeting the Nigerian singer Davido, has broken her silence to tell her side of the story. According to the Daily Post, the artist said on Thursday that five separate DNA tests had established that Aanu was not his biological daughter. Davido also claimed he had never had a relationship with Ayo Labinjoh, remarks that fueled the controversy after the publication of an open letter attributed to the teenager, demanding a paternity test.

In a statement posted on her daughter’s Instagram account, Ayo Labinjoh strongly disputes these claims. She says she met Davido in a nightclub in Lagos and accuses him of pulling away due to prejudices against her. Aanu’s mother also questions the credibility of the DNA tests mentioned by the singer, arguing that the samples were taken in a private laboratory rather than an accredited hospital facility.

She describes the results as unreliable and denounces what she calls an opaque handling of the case, citing a negative impact on her daughter’s mental health. Ayo Labinjoh also says that she intends to approach the competent authorities so that an independent DNA test, supervised by official bodies, can be carried out.

“My daughter is fighting for her identity, not for a media conflict,” she insists, also condemning the remarks and pressures she deems unacceptable. The case, widely followed on social media, continues to provoke strong reactions, while no independent official procedure has yet to be announced.
