Cybercrime: a 22-year-old man arrested in Djidja

On Wednesday, September 3, 2025, officers arrested a 22-year-old man, a glazier by trade, residing in Mougnon-Houéli. The operation, carried out discreetly, was made possible by reliable intelligence and meticulous surveillance.

According to Africaho, the search conducted at his home uncovered his toolkit. The following were seized: two Android phones, a keypad phone, one hundred twenty-four (124) SIM cards, including 69 from MTN and 55 from Moov, a Moov Wi-Fi router, as well as one hundred seventy thousand (170,000) CFA francs.

For the Republican Police, this toolkit constitutes strong indications of organized criminal activity, exploiting digital technologies for illicit purposes.

The suspect was transferred to the Directorate for the Fight against Cybercrime for the purposes of the investigation. The seized items will be thoroughly analyzed to determine the extent of the offenses, identify any potential accomplices, and locate any potential victims.
