Cristiano Ronaldo continues to write his legend. Al-Nassr’s captain scored his 961st career goal as his team cruised to a 3-0 victory over Al Kholood on Friday, on the 18th matchday of the Saudi Pro League. The match took place at King Abdullah Sport City in Buraydah. Notching his 17th league goal of the season, the 40-year-old Portuguese confirms his impressive longevity at the highest level.
With this goal, Cristiano Ronaldo joins Julian Quiñones (Al Qadsiah), also a scorer against Al Hilal on Thursday, at the top of the top scorers standings. The former Real Madrid forward is now just 39 goals away from the symbolic 1,000-goal career milestone, which he openly pursues. Already a two-time consecutive winner of the Saudi Pro League Golden Boot, Ronaldo has Al-Nassr in third place in the standings with 40 points, six behind the leader Al Hilal.
