Returning from the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, Osimhen resumed full training on Monday, thereby dispelling concerns about his physical condition.

Aged 27, the striker had left the field hobbling during the semi-final Nigeria lost to host Morocco, the host country, before withdrawing from the classification match against Egypt. An episode that had sown doubt about his immediate availability. But Okan Buruk sought to reassure at a press conference. « Osimhen joined the team yesterday. He trained with us and the session went very well », the Turkish coach said, implying that his star striker could start for this decisive European fixture.
