Champions League: Haaland secures a 2-0 victory for Manchester City in Porto
Manchester City began their Champions League campaign with a 2-0 victory away at FC Porto on Tuesday, September 8, thanks to a brace from Erling Haaland.

After a goalless first half, the Norwegian striker opened the scoring in the 47th minute. From a cross by Enzo Fernández following a move initiated by Rayan Cherki, Haaland delivered a winning header to give the English the lead.
Porto tried to come back and maintained pressure on the Manchester defense, but City held firm before definitively making the difference in stoppage time.
Haaland scored his second goal of the evening from a pass by Rayan Aït-Nouri. This brace brings his total to 58 goals in the Champions League, further confirming his effectiveness in the European competition.
Manchester City thus leaves the Dragão with three points and an away victory in the first European match of the season under Enzo Maresca.
