Real Madrid will have to do without young Argentine Franco Mastantuono, sidelined by pubalgia, ahead of their trip to Anfield to face Liverpool in the Champions League.
On the eve of their trip to Anfield to face Liverpool in the Champions League, Real Madrid must deal with a new injury. The merengue club announced on Monday on its official website that Franco Mastantuono is suffering from pubalgia, forcing him to rest.
“Following the examinations carried out today on Franco Mastantuono by Real Madrid’s medical department, the player is suffering from pubalgia. His recovery will be closely monitored,” states the Madrid statement. The 18-year-old Argentina international, who took part in Real Madrid’s 4-0 league win over Valence this weekend, will probably miss the European trip. The Spanish club nevertheless hopes to have him back quickly for the rest of the competition.
This injury complicates Carlo Ancelotti’s task, already deprived of several key players in a particularly busy schedule. The Madrid side will still try to continue their positive momentum on Tuesday night at Anfield, against a Liverpool side unbeaten at home so far this season.
