Brazil’s manager, Carlo Ancelotti, expressed optimism about Cristiano Ronaldo’s ability to pass the symbolic mark of 1,000 career goals. With more than 950 goals across all competitions, the Portuguese captain continues to write the history of world football.
Asked by Spanish journalist Tomás Roncero, Ancelotti said, in remarks reported by AS, that his former player would achieve this exceptional target. “He will get there, I’m certain of it. I have no doubt,” the Italian coach said, before adding with a laugh: “When he scores his thousandth goal, he absolutely must invite me to the party.”
The former Real Madrid coach also praised Ronaldo’s longevity and professionalism, which he compares to Luka Modric: “They are passionate people who live for football. Their discipline and their love of the game keep them at the top.” Ronaldo, 40, recently hinted that the 2026 World Cup would be his last in international football.
