After two editions finishing just off the podium, the young Guépardeaux have taken a step forward by securing third place in the African School Football Championship, at the end of a composed performance against Morocco (1-0). Under the leadership of Séverin Danha, the Beninese displayed real mastery, both in attacking play and in defensive solidity. Their dominance materialized as early as the 17th minute thanks to a goal by Abel Mevowanou, the sole goal of the match.
Solid and disciplined, the young Beninese then managed to preserve this lead until the final whistle, resisting Moroccan attempts. This success marks a turning point for this generation, which confirms the progress made in recent years. After two consecutive fourth places, Benin finally reaches the continental podium.
