It’s the second consecutive victory for Nigeria at the Women’s AFCON 2025 taking place in Morocco. After roughing up the Eagles of Tunisia (3-0) last week, the Super Falcons followed up Thursday night against Botswana.
Against the Lady Zebras in a match contested in Casablanca, the Nigerians came out on top with a score of 1-0. The sole goal of the match was scored in the second half by Chiwendu Ihezuo.
In a very tightly contested game, the Super Falcons player broke the deadlock in the 90th minute with a successful tap-in following a perfect cross from Okoronkwo from the right side.
With this victory, Nigeria confirms their status as favorites and advances to the quarterfinals, where they will attempt to continue their quest for another continental title.
