CAN 2025: Senegal puts CAF on alert ahead of the final against Morocco

On the eve of the 2025 AFCON final between Senegal and Morocco in Rabat, the Lions of Teranga have appealed to CAF to denounce conditions they deem unfair, notably regarding training venues and ticket allocation.

Senegal officially conveyed several grievances to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) on the eve of the Africa Cup of Nations final, scheduled for Sunday in Rabat against Morocco. The Lions of Teranga notably refused to train at the Mohammed VI Complex, arguing that the proximity of the host team’s facilities could expose their sessions to surveillance or unwanted recordings. The Senegalese delegation thus asked CAF to provide another training site, deemed more in line with confidentiality and fairness requirements.

Furthermore, the Senegalese Football Federation said it had received only two VVIP tickets for the final, while deploring restrictions on access to additional tickets. In light of these concerns, Senegal called on CAF and the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) to take urgent corrective measures to ensure respect for fair play, equal treatment, and security ahead of the tournament’s final.
