Listed as favorites to win the title, Senegal got off to an ideal start to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. The Lions of Teranga calmly dispatched Botswana this Tuesday in Tangier. Against the Zebras, who were limited offensively, Pape Thiaw’s charges won 3-0. Nicolas Jackson, who scored a brace, and Chérif Ndiaye netted the three goals of the match.
With this display of strength, Senegal takes the lead in Group D, level on points with the DR Congo, who defeated Benin 1-0 in the group’s other match.
