Friday’s fixtures across Africa’s pitches mark the second matchday of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations group stage.
The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations continues this Saturday with several fixtures on the schedule, notably the showdown between Benin and Botswana in the early afternoon. Later, Senegal will face DR Congo, while Uganda will play Tanzania. In the evening, Nigeria will take on Tunisia at the Fez Stadium, in a Group C clash.
On Friday, several fixtures from Groups A and B lit up the tournament. In Group B, Egypt got the job done against South Africa (1-0), powered by a decisive goal from Mohamed Salah. In the other group match, Angola and Zimbabwe drew (1-1), a result that leaves both teams behind in the standings.
Group A was also marked by highly contested matches. The host nation Morocco had to settle for a draw with Mali (1-1). Brahim Díaz had opened the scoring for the Atlas Lions, before Mali’s equalizer by Lassine Sinayoko. In the other group match, Zambia and the Comoros finished level (0-0).
