Runner-up in the last edition in Ivory Coast, Nigerian midfielder Alex Iwobi believes the Super Eagles have the tools needed to go and lift the AFCON 2025 trophy in Morocco.
With only a few weeks until the final phase of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, Alex Iwobi shows unwavering confidence. The Super Eagles midfielder firmly believes in Nigeria’s chances of lifting the trophy in Morocco.
The tournament, which will take place from December 21 to January 18, will put its title up for grabs again after Ivory Coast’s 2-1 victory over Nigeria in the last final. A defeat the Super Eagles still haven’t digested.
That said, Iwobi believes this disappointment can become a strength. « We were so close to winning at the last AFCON », he told AySuga Channel. « The only way to do better is to win the tournament. » The Fulham player insists the squad has the talent to go all the way: « We have the squad to do it. We believe in our chances, we just have to prove it on the pitch. »
