Very satisfied with how the Africa Cup of Nations has unfolded in Morocco, Mali’s head coach Tom Saintfiet has noted only two minor inconveniences related to the weather conditions, while praising the quality of the infrastructure and the atmosphere of the tournament.

The Mali head coach, Tom Saintfiet, delivered a very positive assessment of his experience in Morocco since the start of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, pointing to only two minor inconveniences. In an interview with CAFOnline, the Belgian coach explained that the only difficulties encountered by his staff and players concerned the weather conditions, notably the temperature and periods of rain. These factors, he says, are nonetheless outside the scope of any organizational issues.

Conversely, Saintfiet did not stint on praise for the host country, lauding Morocco’s know-how in hosting and managing major sporting events. “This Africa Cup of Nations has been fantastic so far. I have always appreciated Morocco for its ability to organize major events,” he said.

The 52-year-old coach also highlighted the quality of the infrastructures provided to the teams, mentioning comfortable hotels, modern stadiums and training grounds of a very high standard. Overall, I am very satisfied with this Africa Cup of Nations. The only small issue remains the temperature and the rain, but that does not depend on us, he continued, before concluding on the tournament’s overall atmosphere. This is a very beautiful CAN, well organized, with an excellent atmosphere. The supporters are numerous and very positive in the streets. Having qualified for the quarter-finals, Mali will face Senegal this Friday at the Grand Stade de Tanger, at 17:00 (GMT+1).
