A forceful operation was carried out on the night of Thursday, November 20, 2025 in Zakpo Ahouamè, an area long regarded as one of the epicenters of prostitution and nighttime disturbances in Bohicon.
Under the direction of Colonel Alexis Azoua, departmental head of the Police du Zou, and with the support of Commissioner Elvis Francisco Zannou and his teams from the first arrondissement, several clandestine establishments were destroyed.
Around 10 p.m., police moved into the neighborhood, evicting numerous sex workers. The makeshift shelters used for meetings were demolished.
For several years, Zakpo Ahouamè has been identified as a high-risk area, associated with pimping and the exploitation of vulnerable people. Residents, often fed up with the insecurity and nighttime noise, welcomed the move.
The departmental directorate of the Police du Zou has already announced that operations will be stepped up in the coming days. The stated aim is to restore and maintain public order over the long term and to improve the quality of life in this emblematic Bohicon neighborhood.
