A man impersonating a military officer was arrested on the night between Wednesday, June 18, and Thursday, June 19, 2025, in Bohicon, during an identity check conducted by a patrol of the Republican Police.

A man impersonating a military officer was arrested on the night between Wednesday, June 18, and Thursday, June 19, 2025, in Bohicon, during an identity check conducted by a patrol of the Republican Police.
Riding a motorcycle, the suspect claimed to be a member of the Beninese Armed Forces. However, he was unable to prove his military affiliation. He had neither a professional card, nor an order of mission, nor any other supporting document.
Taken to the police station of the second district of Bohicon for verification, the individual was held in custody for title usurpation. He could be presented to the prosecutor at the Abomey court in the coming days to answer for his actions.
