Benin: Vakon-Avagbodji-Aguégué road development project updated
The Beninese government has decided to update the development and paving project for the Vakon-Avagbodji-Aguégués road, which stretches over a length of 13.2 km and includes earthworks, roadway construction, paving and drainage.

The project also includes the construction of a 100-meter-span bridge over the Ouémé River to connect the central urban area of Aguégués.
The current physical progress rate is 68%, due to technical and operational difficulties that occurred during the works, which have prevented completing the project within the planned timeframe.
Faced with this situation, it was deemed necessary to update the specifications before resuming work on the site, in order to ensure the quality, durability and functionality of the structure.
This update will take into account technical modifications within the limits of the initial contract, as well as additional and strengthening works outside the original scope of execution.
The Council of Ministers has given its approval for this update, paving the way for the continuation of the works under improved technical and operational conditions.
