Benin: tragic death of an artist in distress

The locality of Houin, in the Assanté district, municipality of Glazoué, has been in deep shock since the afternoon of Tuesday, December 2, 2025.

A man known for his artistic involvement in the “Toba” rhythm and very active within a local church lost his life in tragic circumstances, according to reports from Le Potentiel.

According to testimonies gathered on site, the man had been facing a series of painful marital ordeals for several years. After separating from his first two wives, he was recently in a delicate situation due to the health of his third wife, who is currently being cared for at a specialized center in Dassa-Zoumè.

This accumulation of difficulties reportedly undermined the deceased’s emotional stability, according to several villagers who mention a period of moral distress before the tragedy.

The local community remains in shock, particularly as the man was well liked for his talent and community involvement.

Local authorities are calling for caution and increased support for people in psychological distress, reminding that early intervention can prevent many tragedies.
