Benin: TikToker Billy cleared by the CRIET
Another judicial episode before the Court for the Repression of Economic Offences and Terrorism (CRIET). Beninese content creator and TikToker Billy, whose real name is Arsène Kplédo, was acquitted on the benefit of the doubt on Thursday, August 27, 2026.

Prosecuted over alleged internet fraud, the defendant had been awaiting the special court’s ruling.
At the previous hearing, held on July 16, 2026, the public prosecutor considered that the evidence gathered did not make it possible to establish the accused’s guilt with certainty and therefore requested an acquittal on the benefit of the doubt.
By issuing its decision on Thursday, the CRIET followed the special prosecutor’s analysis, bringing the proceedings against Arsène Kplédo in this case to an end.
