According to the clarifications provided by the spokesperson of the executive branch, Wilfried Léandre Houngbédji, this strategic roadmap aims to consolidate the reforms underway while setting new priorities for social, economic, and security development.

The new action plan revolves around three fundamental orientations focused on eradicating extreme poverty, addressing territorial imbalances, and strengthening national security.

To support these ambitions, the operational mode of government work is being restructured to optimize the effectiveness of public policies, now providing for monthly Council of Ministers meetings, bimonthly inter-ministerial committees, and thematic cabinet meetings for close monitoring.

Departmental Consultations and Participatory Democracy

In line with the country’s membership in the Partnership for an Open Government, the final development of the document will rely on a series of citizen consultations conducted in the twelve departments of Benin.

This approach aims to gather the concerns of local populations and to adapt state investments to the realities of each region.
