Benin: Talon pledges to work for national unity at the helm of the Senate.

Expressing his gratitude to his peers for the trust placed in the entire elected bureau and his deputy rapporteur, the new president praised the atmosphere of understanding that prevailed during the establishment of the institution.

Speaking in front of the oldest member and all the senators, he called for building a genuine communal dynamic within the Senate, guided by responsibility, dignity, and the greater interest of the country.

According to him, teamwork, consensus, and friendliness should take precedence over differences to ensure the proper functioning of the institution.

Fully committing to his new role, Patrice Talon reaffirmed his willingness to dedicate this term to strengthening national unity, political stability, peace, and democracy in Benin, while urging his colleagues to actively uphold this collective ambition.
