Benin: strengthening the staff in several courts

Magistrates were assigned or promoted in several jurisdictions, both ordinary and special. The Court for the Repression of Economic Offenses and Terrorism (CRIET), a key institution in the fight against corruption and organized crime, was not left out. New judges and prosecutors were appointed there, strengthening its staff and capacity for action.

These moves come amid an effort to consolidate the judicial system, with the stated aim of improving the efficiency, transparency, and speed of case processing, particularly for cases with high economic and security sensitivity.
