At the Council of Ministers, the Beninese government decided to release the funds needed to repay the outstanding pension contributions for the benefit of 504 former military personnel.
These former personnel voluntarily left the Benin Armed Forces after serving less than 15 years. The measure follows a longstanding claim by their professional association, initiated as early as 2015.
Previously, of the 835 agents initially concerned, only 331 beneficiaries had been reimbursed before a court order suspended the process. The balance at stake here therefore concerns the remaining 504 agents who have not yet received their entitlements.
With this decision, the State intends to close this file and honor its commitments to its former agents.
