Benin – National Assembly: the proposed constitutional amendment bill to be examined next Friday

According to official communiqué No. 840/AN/SGA/CSE, the session will address three major items on the agenda:
- The review of the draft law revising Law No. 90-32 of 11 December 1990, concerning the Constitution of the Republic of Benin, as amended by Law No. 2019-40 of 7 November 2019.
- The study of Draft Law No. 2024-26 of 8 July 2024, an organic law concerning the Economic and Social Council.
- The examination of Draft Law No. 2022-09 of 20 June 2022, amending and supplementing the organic law on the Constitutional Court.
The release of the communiqué is scheduled over several days, from Tuesday, 11 to Friday, 14 November 2025, in order to ensure wide dissemination to the deputies and the public.
This session promises to be decisive, notably with the issue of constitutional revision—a subject that is already prompting many debates within the political class and public opinion.
