Benin: multiple fatalities and extensive property damage in a road accident in N’Dali

A livestock transport truck, traveling on the route linking the towns of Tamarou and Banhounkpo, overturned for reasons that the investigation will still need to determine.

​According to the first reports relayed by the local station SU TII SUA FM and reported by Fraternité, the human toll is heavy, with several lives lost. Beyond the human tragedy, the accident caused significant material damage and the loss of a substantial portion of the livestock being transported.

​As soon as alerted, officers of the Republican Police went to the scene of the incident. Their intervention helped secure the perimeter and regulate traffic, heavily disrupted by the vehicle’s position and the scattering of the animals on the roadway.

​While waiting for the wreck to be fully cleared and the full restoration of traffic, the authorities are calling on users of this stretch to exercise the utmost vigilance. An investigation has been opened to specify the exact circumstances of this new road tragedy.
