Benin-Mauritania switch stadium: the Cheetahs will play in Ebimpé
Benin will host Mauritania on Tuesday, September 29, at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium in Ebimpé, rather than at the Félix Houphouët-Boigny Stadium as initially announced. This match is part of the second round of Group F in the qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The Félicia Stadium, located in Plateau, will therefore give way to the venue in Ebimpé. The change of location comes after the match was originally scheduled to take place at the Félix Houphouët-Boigny Stadium.
Kick-off is still set for 7:00 pm GMT, which is 8:00 pm in Cotonou. Benin will play four days earlier in Ouagadougou against Burkina Faso to kick off their qualifiers.
The Cheetahs’ final training session before the match against Mauritania is scheduled for Monday, September 28, at 5:00 pm on the pitch in Ebimpé. The Mourabitounes are set to train at 7:00 pm.
Gernot Rohr announced his squad for this international window on September 17, which includes the first two rounds of qualifiers before a friendly against Argentina on October 6. Group F consists of Benin, Burkina Faso, Mauritania, and the Central African Republic.
