The Ligue 1 weekend delivered on all fronts across Benin’s pitches. On Saturday, Coton FC narrowly beat Hodio (2-1), while the Buffles of Parakou dominated Loto-Popo (1-0) to confirm their excellent start to the season. Espoir FC got the better of Dadjè (1-0), while Ayéma and Damissa were held to a draw (0-0).
On Sunday, SOBEMAP FC secured a valuable win in Avrankou against the Dragons (1-0), thus taking first place in the standings thanks to a better goal difference. Dynamo d’Abomey also shone at home by defeating AS Cotonou (2-0), while Bani Gansè and ASVO played out a goalless draw (0-0), as did JS Pobè and Cavaliers (0-0).
In the standings, SOBEMAP FC and Buffles FC now have 16 points each, ahead of Loto-Popo, Damissa and Coton, all on 11 points. By contrast, the situation is getting worse for ASVO, Bani Gansè, Dadjè and Cavaliers, who have slipped into the relegation zone.
