Benin: José Tonato and Salimane Karimou appointed advisors to Romuald Wadagni.
The President of the Republic, Romuald Wadagni, continues to structure the state apparatus following the formation of his first government.

Through new official decisions, José Tonato and Salimane Karimou are joining the presidency as advisors to the president, respectively responsible for infrastructure and education.
These appointments mark the return to office of two experienced figures from the Beninese public administration. José Tonato, who has led the portfolio of Living Environment and Sustainable Development for nearly a decade under the outgoing administration, takes on the oversight of major projects and structural reforms related to national infrastructures.
On his part, Salimane Karimou, former Minister of Maternal and Primary Education under Patrice Talon’s governance, is called to guide the strategic choices of the head of state in the field of education, a key sector for the new seven-year term.
Technocracy and Continuity at the Presidency
This realignment confirms the doctrine of the new head of state, focused on leveraging technical expertise and rationalizing competencies.
By positioning these former ministers directly at the presidency, Romuald Wadagni opts to capitalize on the continuity of public action while maintaining a streamlined government team of 24 portfolios.
The designation of these profiles to sectoral advisor positions at the presidency of the Republic outlines a governance method where the high direction of projects remains centralized at the Marina Palace, reinforcing the technical interface necessary for the implementation of the presidential societal program.
