Benin: the government resumes its Council of Ministers after the summer break

On vacation since August 1, government members had gradually resumed their activities starting August 24, before an effective governmental return on September 1.

This resumption comes as several important files now await decisions. Among the main announced projects are notably the preparation of the State budget for 2027 and the development of the new Government Action Program (PAG), which must set the major orientations for Romuald Wadagni’s seven-year term.

This Wednesday’s Council of Ministers therefore constitutes the first major governmental meeting of the new term. Its report will reveal the decisions made and the new measures adopted by the Beninese executive.

It should be noted that, under the new organization of governmental work, the ordinary Council of Ministers now takes place on the first Wednesday of each month, with the possibility of convening extraordinary sessions when the situation requires.
