Benin: Hosée Houngnibo faces a new proceeding before the Criet
New legal troubles for the former OB26 movement coordinator. Already sanctioned in January 2025 for incitement to rebellion, Hosée Houngnibo, known for his outspoken support for businessman Olivier Boko, is once again facing justice.

This time he is appearing before the Court of Repression of Economic Offenses and Terrorism (CRIET), for slanderous denunciation and electronic harassment.
According to information relayed by the Free Express media, the trial opened on Monday, June 17, 2025. However, the defendant, who has been in pretrial detention since January 27, was not taken out of his cell for the hearing.
The judge of the correctional chamber simply acknowledged the procedure before postponing the examination of the case to August 4, 2025.
